Sunshine Coast Theme Parks

 

The Sunshine Coast is a centre for tourism. It contains attractions such as Steve Irwin's famous Australia Zoo, UnderWater World marine park, Aussie World with the Ettamogah Pub, The Buderim Ginger Factory, Big Pineapple and the Majestic Theatre.

Australia Zoo at Beerwah, Queensland, Australia is owned by Steve Irwin and Terri Irwin, who co-star on The Crocodile Hunter, their unconventional nature documentary series on television, as well as a spin-off series Croc Files. Their popular programs are shown on the Animal Planet television network in the United States.

Although perhaps best known for the crocodiles, the Zoo features many exhibits of Australian wildlife, including asian otters, koalas, wombats, tasmanian devils, snakes, tigers, cheetahs, and a giant Galapagos tortoise called Harriet, the world's oldest living animal.

Australia Zoo was named Australia's Best Major Tourist Attraction for 2003-2004.

UnderWater World Sunshine Coast

 

UnderWater World at Mooloolaba, Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia is a marine park and wildlife sanctuary.

There are various aquarium sections at UnderWater World, featured on the habitat requirements of the fish, including temperature requirements. A moving walkway under the aquarium takes the visitor past a number of viewing windows, with fish swimming at the sides of the walkway, and immediately overhead.

UnderWater World presents seal shows and wildlife information talks, and there are hands-on marine displays. UnderWater World is also home to Otters and Fresh water Crocodiles.

UnderWater World is also a rehabilitation centre for Turtles, Dugongs, Dolphins and seals

The Buderim Ginger Factory

 

The Buderim Ginger Factory, at Yandina, Sunshine Coast, Queensland is a tourist attraction and working ginger factory. There are rides, tours of the factory, and shops, restaurants and other exhibits for visitors to enjoy.
